Luxury Vinyl Guide
In the past, homeowners needed to make trade-offs when it came time to choose new flooring. If, for example, they wanted the style and luxury of real wood, they would likely need to sacrifice durability and performance. But, nowadays homeowners can avoid these trade-offs by choosing luxury vinyl flooring. Luxury vinyl flooring, or LVT flooring, is specially-made to look like real wood and stone, but because of its synthetic construction, it is extremely durable. More specifically, luxury vinyl can handle moisture, heavy foot traffic, and pretty much anything life throws its way.
Valley Carpet One Floor & Home in Van Nuys is your local flooring retailer, and we are here to help you find the perfect floor for your next home project. Luxury vinyl is a fast growing flooring category and quickly growing in popularity among homeowners. This durable floor features the authentic looks of natural flooring like wood, stone and tile. Nothing is better than having a floor that not only look realistic but is also super durable.
Types of Luxury Vinyl Flooring
Luxury vinyl flooring comes in plank and tile options. These planks and tiles use high-tech digital printing technology to achieve the detailed and authentic looks of stone, wood or tile flooring. This makes luxury vinyl an ideal alternative to natural flooring options. It is the best of both when it comes to looks and durability. Finally you can live on a floor worry-free. Since luxury vinyl has grown so rapidly, there are other options to choose from like waterproof luxury vinyl.
Luxury Vinyl Installation
When it comes to installing luxury vinyl flooring, you can choose products that use traditional glue-down installation, or you can choose luxury vinyl floors that use a newer technology known as floating floor installation. Glue-down luxury vinyl flooring is a more traditional option, and it gets its name from its installation. These floors, as you can imagine, are glued directly to the subfloor with a special adhesive. As a result, glue-down floors are rather thin, but they are a great option for heavy traffic areas. Our luxury vinyl installation page goes into more detail about what you should expect.
WPC flooring is a more innovative luxury vinyl option, and it is generally a more stylish and better-performing alternative to glue-down luxury vinyl. WPC floors have thick, rigid constructions and waterproof cores, so they are some of the most durable flooring options available. These floors are installed by clicking and locking together just like puzzle pieces, and can even be installed over some existing floors!
