Tile Guide

Tile is without a doubt one of the most versatile flooring options for home settings. It, for example, is available in so many different styles and patterns, and it can also be installed virtually anywhere. Plus, there are even tile options for walls, showers, and backsplashes!

Floor Tile

Floor tile, because it can handle moisture, is extremely popular in kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms. Other flooring options, even some vinyl and laminate options, simply do not offer the same moisture resistance. In most settings, ceramic tile is suitable on floors, but in areas with extreme moisture and foot traffic, we recommend porcelain tile. Porcelain, although it doesn’t offer the design versatility of porcelain, is stronger and more stable.

If you’re looking to add natural design to your setting, be sure to choose stone tile flooring.

Wall Tile

For the most part, wall tile looks and functions the same as floor tile, but there are some important differences. Wall tiles, for example, tend to be smaller than floor tiles, mainly because they need to cover smaller surface areas. Plus, because foot traffic won’t be an issue on walls, wall tile is thinner and lighter than floor tile. Nonetheless, wall tiles do offer tremendous design versatility. In fact, you can choose mosaic tiles or other backsplash tile options to create custom designs.

Certain wall tile options, especially those with porcelain constructions, can be installed in custom showers and baths. Choosing shower tile makes it possible to create unique designs that will stand up over time.
